CHEMIST OPERATOR (12 Hour Days) in Grafton, WI

The Chemist Operator is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by conducting synthesis in pilot plant equipment and assisting in laboratory scale synthesis projects.

In this role, you will:
• Conduct and or assist in the production activities of the organization
• Adhere to and document all production activities according to cGMP procedures and AMRI guidelines
• Proactively initiate action to prevent potential problems with supplies or equipment and recognize and react appropriately to dangerous conditions
• Maintain a clean, uncluttered and organized production facility and equipment as per the SOPs and guidelines of the operation

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:
Required;
• High school diploma or GED
• Intermediate level mathematical skills including the ability to utilize routine numerical information and to perform more complex calculations
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of routine chemistry techniques
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to lift at least 80 lbs. of distributed weight from floor to chest level with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to carry at least 50 lb. load up and down stairs and charge them into a reactor with or without reasonable accommodation
• Apply 100 pounds of torque to a bolt with a torque wrench; use utility knives and tools with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to carry portable equipment at least 100 feet with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to move a drum of solvent not exceeding 900 lbs. with the aid of a drum cart with or without reasonable accommodations. Ability to be medically cleared to use a respirator by a physician  Preferred
• Knowledge of production equipment and how to use
• Good understanding of scientific theory underlying production methods
