Sr. Technical Services Scientist/Engineer Specialist in Grafton, WI
AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Sr. Technical Services Scientist/Engineer is a key role to ensure flawless execution of all activities related to process development, manufacturing and supply of products out of Grafton site.
This includes (but is not limited to) leading technical transfers; technical review and support of product related deviations, complaints and investigations; training of the production team on new manufacturing processes; trouble-shooting production issues during technology transfers; and technical leadership during customer meetings. In this role, you will: 1.
Lead technical transfers between sites as a technical steward of products assigned 2.
Generate and review process validation documents for late phase clinical and commercial processes. 3.
Train the production team on new manufacturing processes. 4.
Trouble-shoot production issues during process scale-ups. 5.
Provide technical review and support of deviations, investigations, and customer complaints. 6.  Provide manufacturing floor support during startup of new processes. 7.
Lead technical discussions during customer meetings to update project, manufacturing, and investigation status. 8.
Recommend and implement methods to (a) increase the quality and (b) decrease the internal costs of products and/or services. 9.  Track, trend, and evaluate process and testing data to ensure a robust process. 10.
Use a broad spectrum of practical laboratory skills as needed; including advanced methods of purification of solvents and reagents, running reactions under anhydrous and oxygen free conditions, and using advanced methods for isolation/purification of sensitive materials. 11.  Remain alert to the chemical literature especially in regard to recent developments vital to our processes and area of interest. Impart new chemical information and research techniques to junior chemical staff and manufacturing personnel. 12.  Train and develop skills related to manipulation and analysis of organic chemicals in junior staff. 13.  Remain current with Company policy regarding compliance with validation of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. 14.
Participate in safety evaluations as required to support hazard assessment and HazOp reviews.

• MS or PhD degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Prior experience (5+ years) in chemical development or manufacturing
• Must possess excellent writing skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar packages
• Ability to manage and complete projects
