AMRI, a global contract research and manufacturing service company serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, has an opportunity for a Tax Manager to join the AMRI Corporate Tax Team in our Albany, NY office.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Tax, and working closely with the tax group, this position will lead the coordination of AMRI’s federal and state tax reporting, compliance and planning efforts. This role includes overseeing the preparation of consolidated federal and multistate income tax return and information reporting on foreign entities.  The Tax Manager will also, be responsible for year-end tax and interim provisions, coordination of IRS and state/local audits, ongoing planning and research and business unit consultation. • Manage the Company’s tax compliance process, including review of annual federal, state and local income tax returns, extensions, quarterly estimated tax payments and sales and use tax returns
• Coordinate the preparation and review of interim and annual income tax provision and tax related balance sheet accounts, including tax footnote and review by external financial auditors
• Manage the US Federal, state and local income tax audits
• Prepare various ad hoc reports and analysis, including tax account reconciliations, tax impact in business transactions and tax information reporting requirements
• Assist in identifying, researching and evaluating alternative tax positions in order to determine a supportable, cost effective filing position
• Continuously monitor and identify tax law changes that have an impact on the company
• Work with senior management and third-party service providers
• Co-manage, mentor and develop professional staff

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration 
• 5
years of directly related and progressively responsible corporate tax experience, including 1+ years supervisory experience
• Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong multitasking skills and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage, mentor and motivate tax team members
• Compliance experience with corporate, consolidated federal and unitary/combines state income tax returns
• Experience preparing tax provisions for financial statements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
