The Research Scientist II is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by performing method development and the analysis of compounds, demonstrating expertise in both the theoretical and practical aspects of analytical chemistry.

In this role, you will:

• Analyze compounds using a range of analytical techniques.
• Write analytical method procedures to establish format and write analytical validation reports.
• Develop new procedures for new compounds.
• Process samples with the standard procedures effectively and independently.  Analyze experimental data for validity before reporting results.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting simple data sets and providing summaries.
• Execute, author and review protocols; report quality investigations, change controls and data summaries.  Understand and use basic risk assessment androot cause tools.


Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

• Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in chemistry or a related field. A minimum of two years of relevant industry experience.
Chemical Hygiene training.
• Language/Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or top management. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and public groups.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical orscientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
