Job Description


POSITION PURPOSE
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for oversight of purchase orders, raw material planning, and collecting data required to maintain the accuracy of inventory records.  Work closely with the Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing, and warehouse personnel to secure material requirements for scheduled activities. Verify materials are received and processed in time to meet scheduled production dates. 
Responsible for development and implementation of a Master Production, Materials and Capacity Planning and Scheduling organization to support existing manufacturing, Sales and operations planning and the transfer of best practices to the site.
Assume other duties within the supply chain management function as assigned.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
      Essential functional duties of the position
 
  • Design and implement supply chain processes that support business strategies and are flexible to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Monitor forecasts and firm demand to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Direct and collaborate with demand and supply teams to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
  • Ensure project readiness for schedule adherence
  • Introduce and maintain proper tools necessary to ensure adequate stock of inventory.
  • Coordinated activities with engineering team to provide BOM’s for upcoming projects.
  • Responsible for efficient and consistent material flow throughout the operation, from raw material receipt to final product shipped.
  • Drive performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as delivery to promise, delivery to request, etc.
  • Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve/provide visibility to delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and available capacity.
  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, master data input, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, shipping, or receiving.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Analyze information about supplier performance.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns or reduce waste.
  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
  • Author supply chain procedures

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or related technical field; advance degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulated industry, and materials management & procurement is desired.
  • Familiarity with imports and exports as dictated by govt. agencies such as:  FDA, EMEA, DEA, Hazardous Material compliance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments towards meeting/exceeding established goals.
  • Proficiency in software related to Windows including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.  Strong computer skills:  SAP

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work in a normal office environment and is frequently required to enter the production area of a typical manufacturing facility which has moving mechanical parts, and may have fumes or airborne particles, cold/heat, wet and/or humid conditions, low levels of toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
