Supervisor, Production - Overnights in Rensselaer, NY
AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The Supervisor, Production - Overnights is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by being responsible for the manufacturing of Bulk Chemicals/Pharmaceuticals and for maintaining the manufacturing equipment and facilities according to prescribed cGMP guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP).  The incumbent supervises the hourly production work force insuring strict adherence to manufacturing processes and work practices.

In this role, you will:
  • Supervise all appropriate shift personnel to meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for the manufacture of all Bulk Chemical/Pharmaceuticals described in the Production Schedule.
  • Develop work schedules for production technicians in order to meet production requirements.
  • Assist the Building Manager in developing effective overtime plans to meet business needs.
  • Insure that adequate supplies of raw materials, intermediates and factory supplies are available within the manufacturing area to meet production requirements.  Responsible for the orderly storage and flow of materials within the manufacturing area.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to assigned technicians. Take corrective action when necessary.
  • Responsible for insuring that the manufacturing area and production equipment is adequately maintained. 
  • Ensure all manufacturing operations are conducted in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and approved manufacturing monographs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all materials used in the manufacturing operation have been approved for use by authorized personnel and have been so documented.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing problems and contributes to equipment operations when necessary.
  • Ensure all areas and equipment are cleaned and documented in accordance with existing SOP and plant policies.
  • Ensure all documentation relating to the manufacturing operation (batch records, cleaning records, calibration records, equipment logs, etc.) are complete and up to date.
  • Ensures all materials being located in and leaving manufacturing areas (raw materials, intermediates, finished products) are maintained, packaged, labeled in accordance with plant policies and that the materials are correctly weighed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:
Required
  • 5-10 years Manufacturing experience required
  • Knowledge of S.O.P.’s
  • Good leadership and communication skills

Preferred

  • Chemical or Biotech experience is preferred
  • Engineering degree a plus
