Job Description

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Sr.Director of Global Project Management is a critical leadership role with high visibility across the Executive Leadership Team.  This position is responsible for providing the vision and strategy for AMRI’s Global Project Management Office.  The successful candidate will drive transformation across AMRI’s global footprint. 
 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
The Director of Global PMO will report directly to the VP.   His or her responsibilities will include:
  • Develops vision and overall strategy for AMRI’s Global PMO governance functions
  • Lead and execute project and program management methodology for delivery initiatives, including Project Governance processes, standard tools, templates, communications, financials, and risk management.
  • Drive program plans for multiple, simultaneous, related projects delivering on scope, budget and schedule ensuring execution on tasks defined in the program plan to achieve overall program goals.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization and review efforts.
  • Develop and report KPIs to all project teams and senior leadership. .
  • Create a PMO center of excellence providing direct guidance on project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization and budgeting
  • Manages and report on resource allocation and resource utilization rates at the individual and overall project portfolio levels.
  • Drive operational excellence ensuring that appropriate project hand-off and closure occurs including lessons learned and assessment of outcomes relative to associated KPIs.
  • Guides project teams throughout the company and serves as knowledge center for best practices, processes, templates, lessons learned, historical project.
  • Collaborate with finance, business unit leaders and key stakeholders to develop and manage project and program delivery approach, budgeting and cost estimation approaches and resource  allocation.
  • Establishes cross functional alliances across the Enterprise to drive results
  • Ensures global approach is consistent with adoption and implementation of project and program management methodology and oversees project and program management training globally. 

Job Requirements

Requirements
  • Minimum of  10 years of project and program management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Program/Project Leader/Manager
  • A undergraduate degree required, masters preferred
  • PMP/PMI certification highly preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma training highly preferred
  • 5 years of experience managing in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and managerial skills and thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing sites.
