Site Operations Controller
Albany Molecular Research Inc. provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. 
Summary:
The Site Operations Controller is a critical finance role at the Albuquerque site.  This Site Operations Controller will partner with the Operating Team to drive inventory metrics, lower our release timing, and highlight meaningful business insights.  In addition to the operating responsibilities the Site Operations Controller will be responsible for ensuring AMRI Albuquerque’s adherence to aall financial related reporting deadlines.   
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Partner with Operations team:  Provide real time reporting to senior operations members around inventory metrics, including; price variances, labor reporting variances, OTIF metrics, and others.  Directly assist Operations Team to alleviate / address issues. 
  • Implement and execute method to increase the quality of information provided to operational departments related to financial issues to help drive profitability at the site.
  • Provide analysis on revenue/cost variances to operational departments timely.
  • Own the Monthly Close Process:  Responsible for all GL activities generated at the site, including direct support for monthly closing of the GL. 
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare monthly results comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Manage standard cost update process on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Prepared month end reconciliations and support schedules.
  • Manage revenue recognition and billings  with site personnel and  corporate revenue team
  • Site coordinator for Shared Services in Albany
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:                                           
B.S. in Accounting or related field, Preferred MBA, CPA, or CMA 5 or more years of experience in finance, accounting, forecasting/budgeting, or other related field. 
Must possess excellent business partnering skills
Creative problem solving and exceptional initiative are expected
Ability to drive process enhancements
 
Language Skills:  
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information to non-finance personnel, management, and/or public groups.                       
Computer Skills:                                                     
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Mathematical Skills:                                               
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Other Skills and Abilities:                                                  
  • Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize time in order to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret and implement technical writing and instructions.
  • Strong inter-personal relation skills, while maintaining the adaptability to achieve company goals.
  • Verbally expresses ideas and facts in a clear, logical, concise and in accepted grammatical style.
  • Knowledgeable with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, FDA, JP, EU, etc.).

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch.
 
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
