Shipping Specialist—Grafton, WI


AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries


The Shipping and Material Coordinator controls material inventory and coordinates movement of materials between warehouse and manufacturing.  Has principle responsibility for preparing goods and products for shipment in accordance with all applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Examines contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.

  • Prepares products and goods for shipment ( IATA and DOT knowledge of International and domestic shipments) assuring proper packaging to avoid damage

  • Prepares paperwork to include shipping labels, invoices and instructions for product

  • Receives materials and supplies into warehouse (GMP)

  • Visually examines product for damage prior to entering into inventory or storage area

  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of the shipping, receiving area and warehouse

  • Use ERP system to track the status of goods and materials

  • Identifies and records product quality problems

  • Operates fork lift, and pallet jacks as needed

  • Assist with transport of materials to and from facilities (Commercial Truck)

  • Stores product by designating storage areas (GMP); adjusts storage areas according to production and shipping requirements and updates location database as needed.
  • Assists with picking of product for production use.
  • Monitors inventory by completing counts as required.
  • Works closely with purchasing, quality, production, and others in order to oversee physical counts and reconcile variances.
  • Use root cause analysis to identify and eliminate the problems resulting in inventory variances.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintains databases.
  • Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Documents warehouse problems and issues in writing.
  • Addresses any non-conformance with warehouse rules with the appropriate supervisor and/or upper management.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 2 – 3 years of related experience

  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail

  • Physical ability to pack, receive and store goods and materials

  • Ability to use computer system to track goods and materials

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally

  • At least 1 year Haz Mat/dangerous goods shipping certification and experience or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

  • Fed Ex software knowledge a plus

  • Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
