The Shared Services Controller – Accounting & Treasury is a key member of the Corporate Shared Services team, with primary responsibility for the management and execution of the core accounting and transactional processing areas of cash, general accounting, fixed assets and treasury. Other key areas of responsibility include global cash flow forecasting and administration of the company credit card programs, insurance and bank activities. The overall objective is to maximize the level of service /efficiency provided by shared services teams. Additionally, this position will assist in M&A integration and special initiatives related to global accounting activities, system improvements and process enhancements. This position works closely with the corporate finance and business operations teams providing a path to accelerated learning and valuable accounting and management experience

Responsibilities 

•Responsible for daily cash management, bank administration and reconciliation of entities supported by Shared Service team
•Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company’s global short term and long term cash flow forecasting. Maintains the global forecast and relating models for both indirect and direct method forecasts including accuracy dashboards for the consolidated company
•Responsible for the General Ledger shared service accounting team which includes maintaining all shared service supported balance sheet accounts, monthly journal entries and reconciliations in a sox controlled environment. The areas typically include: prepaid, accrued compensation and benefits items, accrued expenses (professional fee and legal), various other accounts.  Debt related reconciliations may also be assumed
•Responsible for performing  monthly account reconciliation audits of selected global accounts as part of the Company’s Global Account Reconciliation Audit Program, which is designed to ensure proper balances, documentation, procedures and controls are in place at all sites.  This will be performed in conjunction with the Closing and Consolidations team
•Responsible for the monthly administration related to the Company’s debt facilities, including lender notifications related to interest rate elections, interest payments and revolver repayments/borrowings. Assists with new debt financing/refinancing transactions, capital structure scenario analysis and related activities, as applicable
•Supports the Corporate Controller with the management and administration of the Company’s corporate insurance programs, including the collection and transfer of accurate data to the Company’s brokers to support the annual policy renewal process
•Responsible for SG&A and BU month-end scrub activities to ensure proper accounting of transactions. Assist FP&A teams in understanding charges and drive efficiencies by identifying root cause of incorrect postings and work with the shared service team to remediate
•Responsible for the Fixed Asset shared service accounting team which includes maintaining all fixed asset roll forwards, recording of fixed asset related activities – capitalizing, depreciation, retirement and sale of asset, change in valuation exercises, conversion of assets from CIP into an fixed asset, managing the fixed asset module, CIP/Asset clearing for Albany locations
•Responsible for Corporate Credit Card Administration
•Responsible for actively supporting close acceleration initiatives that achieve and maintain a maximum 5- day close cycle
•Responsible for audit coordination for items covered under the Shared service team area. Audits may be external financial, external tax, internal customers, etc.
•Supports the Shared service teams of Accounts Payable, Revenue/AR Billing on an ad hoc basis as needed
•Supports the cash, general accounting and treasury element of strategic business initiatives and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and due diligence/integration activities as needed

Job Requirements

Requirements

•Financial Expertise - 5-10 years of relevant experience required; undergraduate degree in business, accounting or finance required. Experience managing teams a plus
•Experience in performing or managing general accounting and treasury function requirements, including corporate policies and processes, cash management activities, insurance, general accounting, fixed asset and debt
•Very organized with excellent workload prioritization and project management skills. Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient. Able to multi task and promote best practices within the organization and team
•Strong effective interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global matrix environment. Experience in managing a team is a must.  Maintains effective working relationships across the company, at the business unit, functional, and corporate level
•Working knowledge of basic US GAAP accounting principles, foreign currency exchange, and intercompany transactions
•Possesses the behavioral attributes of the competencies in the AMRI finance competency model: critical thinking and analysis, business insight, decision making, drive for results, financial expertise, project management and process improvement, collaboration and team work, people management and influence
•Able to deal with concepts and complexity; probes root causes quickly with strategic agility anticipating future trends and opportunities

•Highly motivated self-starter. Clear thinker with strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to apply business acumen to cash forecasting model assumptions
