 Responsibilities
                          •Develop and implement work plans, conduct performance reviews, and participate in the disciplinary and grievance processes, as needed. Ensure employees have access to tools and information for career development opportunities and actively participate in employee growth and development. Plan and deliver on-the-job training. May provide leadership to multiple teams and lab
•Synthesize compounds, design novel synthetic routes to target molecules, and modify reactants and/or equipment as required. Solve the more complex chemical problems which arise in the group
•Possess a routine flow of quality ideas for synthesizing target compounds
•Display expertise in spectroscopic identification and separation of organic compounds
•Supervise the work of scientists assigned. This includes the responsibility for the appropriate motivation, education, efficiency, evaluation, and productivity of the scientists
•Participate in continuing education courses and/or scientific meetings to improve knowledge and skills in pertinent scientific and managerial fields, as appropriate
•Publish scientific work, maintain useful external contacts, and participate in professional societies in a manner which will bring forth useful information and enhance the scientific reputation of both the Senior Research Scientist III and the Company

Qualifications

•Ph.D. in Chemistry or other applicable natural science field and 8-10 years of relevant experience in the area of process chemistry OR Master’s Degree and 10-12 years of relevant experience in the area of process chemistry


•Chemical Hygiene Training


•Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
