Senior FP&A Analyst - Global Operations

 

AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Senior FP&A Analyst - Global Operations, will report to the Director of Manufacturing Finance. The team supports the SVP of Global Operations and the rest of the Global Operations organization which consists of the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and EHS functions. The team owns/supports Global KPI reporting, the Capex approval process, Capex reporting/planning, Inventory management, S&OP, Monthly Forecasting Process, Annual Operating Plan, and the 4-Year Strategic Plan. This role will also play a key role in BI development and systems integration efforts, partnering with IT and the operating teams to develop IT solutions and establish SOP’s for AMRI’s finance and manufacturing systems. The responsibilities of the role will also necessitate the partnership with the other finance/controllership resources and site leadership teams at the many AMRI manufacturing locations across the US, Europe, and India, as well as traditional corporate finance functions including FP&A, Controllership, and Accounting. Other key initiatives for this role will be to help lead ongoing harmonization efforts of manufacturing accounting practices and other process improvement efforts across AMRI’s global network.

Responsibilities

•         Own the weekly update and distribution of the KPI Dashboard to Global Operations and site leadership in support of weekly site reviews

•         Analyze monthly/quarterly/annual manufacturing financial results (e.g. EBITDA, working capital, capex) and measure variances to targets/plan. Will be tasked with providing qualitative commentary and identifying areas where leadership focus is required

•         Help drive the execution of the planning/forecasting cycles (Annual Operating Plan (AOP), 4-Yr Strategic Plan, Monthly/Quarterly pacing). Includes communication and coordination of deadlines, consolidation and analysis of data, and preparation of related executive presentations (e.g. capex, inventory)

•         Lead and/or support the establishment and standardization of various financial and operational processes across the global network of sites, improving the quality and consistency of data, forecasts, and insights/commentary

•         Provide support for analytical requests such as production scenarios, cost/benefit analyses, cash cost analysis, ROI calculations, make/buy decisions, supplier negotiations, lead time and, safety stock analysis, etc.

•         Improve, enhance, and expand existing reporting as well as develop new value-added reporting and analysis for key stakeholders and business leaders. Support and/or lead automation efforts to provide more real-time and accurate information (e.g. inventory, procurement)


Job Requirements

Required

•         BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline

•         3 years of experience in finance, accounting, forecasting/budgeting, or other related field

•         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

•         Solid grasp and foundational understanding of US accounting regulations and company accounting policies and practices

•         Self-motivated and autonomous individual dedicated to completing tasks on schedule

•         Demonstrated ability to deliver thoughtful analysis and articulate recommendations in a clear and concise manner

•         Possess the ability to be an effective finance business partner and the ability to communicate to a range of audiences, from operations personal to the executive leadership team

•         Creative problem solving and the ability to think strategically about business issues

•         Ability to drive process enhancements and change management 

•         Position may require travel on occasion

Preferred

 

•         Prior experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, and/or Hyperion) 

•         Prior experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
