The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the API business unit Finance team, with primary responsibility for delivering financial reporting, analysis & business insights to enhance API business operating performance.

Responsibilities:

•         Supports the API management reporting process to provide business and corporate leadership with timely reports on API financial results and related business insights. Reports in a manner that meets business or functional information needs, while meeting AMRI’s standards for process, timing, and format

•         Supports the API financial forecasting and budgeting process to provide business and corporate leadership, with timely, high-quality business forecasts and related business insights. Provides transparency into business drivers, risks and opportunities. Supports the API business unit strategic planning process

•         Supports the development and reporting of performance metrics for API.  Ensures the appropriate financial metrics and reports, and related insights, are provided to business management on a timely basis

•         Develops and documents standard financial processes with a focus on implementing common financial processes and practices globally across API sites

•         Uses fact-based analysis and business judgment to identify and communicate areas for operational and financial improvement.  Plays a key role in making API’s operations more efficient and effective

•         Provides financial decision support on a wide scope of operational and strategic matters impacting the achievement of business objectives

•         As required, participates in API business unit and corporate initiatives to help drive them to successful completion (SFRI, CIP, Strategic Pricing, Service, etc.)

•         Works closely and communicates effectively with corporate partners in Corporate Accounting, Operations Finance, Finance Services, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and IT to ensure that both API and corporate information and support needs are consistently met

Works effectively across the company’s matrix organization to improve efficiency and achieve desired results

Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required:

•         Over 3 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in a variety of business environments. Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance required. Master’s degree preferred

•         Strong business acumen and judgment. Able to think strategically about business issues

•         Knowledge of US accounting regulations and company accounting policies and practices, and unquestioned integrity in the application of such standards

•         Strong business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights that add measurable value

•         Excellent at workload prioritization, resource and project management

•         Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and presentation skills. Has executive presence and is capable of presenting to senior leadership

•         Experience in Financial reporting software such as Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion Essbase/Smartview. Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
