Senior Financial Analyst in Rensselaer, NY

Albany Molecular Research Inc. provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.


The Senior Financial Analyst team member is a hands-on finance professional with proven leadership, problem solving, analytical, and communication skills. The role will involve all aspects of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) associated with the Rensselaer large scale manufacturing site to include financial forecasts, manufacturing finance, commercial finance, KPI’s and monthly business reviews . This position will work closely with site finance team members, as well as sales and supply chain resources. The successful candidate will provide timely and accurate financial analysis for the site in effort to support, and maximize, the site performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly financials, quarterly forecasts, annual budget , short-term and long- term financial outlooks
  • Participate in the monthly close process, in conjunction with site and corporate accounting teams
  • Prepare detailed analysis, JEs, and forecasts for developmental stage projects. Including revenue, COGS, absorption, project loss analysis, and project performance reviews vs bids.
  • Track R&D spend and perform project financial evaluation
  • Perform key commercial finance analytics such as Revenue variance analysis (versus prior year, budget and forecast) and price/volume/mix analysis
  • Partner with site financial resources to understand key manufacturing finance analytics such as utilization, yield variances , purchase price variances and spend analysis
  • Partner with sourcing and supply chain to understand financial impacts of key manufacturing inputs and manufacturing schedules
  • Enhance reporting, tracking, and analysis of site manufacturing spend, SG&A spend, and headcount; partnering with operations to manage and control site spend levels
  • Assist with preparation of business review packages
  • Drive process improvement, standardization, and analytic consistency around site financials



Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS


Education and/or Experience

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-7 Years’ Experience in Manufacturing Finance
  • Advanced Excel Skills are a must
  • Experience with Oracle (or other ERP) and Hyperion preferred.
