RESEARCH SCIENTIST III, ANALYTICAL in Albany, NY


AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Extractables, Leachables and Impurities Department is responsible for support of the manufacturing department and external customers.  The routine functions of the laboratory are testing of raw materials, in-process, end product, and stability samples. The Research Scientist III is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by performing method development and analysis of compounds using mass spectrometry.  The Research Scientist III is expected to demonstrate expertise in both the theoretical and practical aspects of analytical chemistry.

 In this role, you will:   


  • Expertise in analyses using Mass Spectrometry, or other analytical techniques.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
  • Subject matter expert for testing, troubleshooting and complex problem solving.
  • Write analytical method procedures to establish format. 
  • Write analytical validation reports.
  • Process samples with the standard procedures effectively and under minimal supervision.  Analyze experimental data for validity.
  • Performs data review. Provides corrections and good documentation coaching. Contributes to the review of OOS and deviations.
  • Executes, authors and reviews protocols, reports, quality investigations, change controls and data summaries.
  • Lead departmental projects.
  • This position may have supervisory duties.


Job Requirements



Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

•                Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field.

•                A minimum of five years of relevant experience.

        •                Chemical Hygiene training
