Research Scientist I in West Lafayette, Indiana

The Research Scientist I is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by performing laboratory experiments and instrumental testing in the Analytical Development group.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments as part of development and validation of solid-state chemistry analytical methods to support drug development processes, including but not limited to preparation of solid-state mixtures and studies of solid-state attributes of materials.
  • Perform routine instrumental testing according to study design and under the guidance of the project leader.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Comply with all cGMP and safety requirements, laboratory SOPs, and company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor degree in chemistry or related science field with 0-1 year of relevant laboratory experience or Associate degree in chemistry or related science field with 2-3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills are required, as is a high level of independence and the ability to handle multiple tasks and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Attention to details is required.

Preferred:

  • Familiar with analytical instrumentation such as IR, Raman, XRPD, DSC, PLM and related data interpretation.
