QC Planner in Rensselaer, NY

The QC Planner is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by helping plan and coordinate QC laboratory testing. The scientist is expected to provide significant contributions to the problems assigned, and to demonstrate an ability to solve problems.  The scientist is self-motivated and continually demonstrates initiative in handling responsibilities, and strives to do the job better.

In this role, you will:
  • 1.       Help plan and coordinate QC laboratory testing with laboratory team leads, analysts, and department lead.  Attend meetings and inform departments of status of QC testing.  Help implement efficiencies and metrics to improve QC testing times.

    2.       Review of analytical data and documentation for compliance with cGMPs, AMRI SOPs and other written procedures.  Identification of deviations.  Trend stability data to ensure consistency with historical timepoints and no unexpected results.

    3.       Managing timelines of multiple projects: Interface with scientists and management to coordinate testing timelines, corrections to documentation, and reporting within defined turnaround times.  Adjusting priorities based on due dates and invoicing goal.

    4.       Coordinates reference material certification and recertification testing.  This includes testing performed at diverse AMRI locations and certification of materials at outside vendors/customers. 

    5.      Writing protocols, proposals, and designing studies for stability. Managing invoicing for stability: issuing BRFs, working with finance to ensure accurate and complete accounting for stability projects. Tracking monthly and quarterly financial projections.

    The QC Planner is encouraged to display a degree of professionalism reflected in part by increasing the scientist's knowledge of theory and practice through reading scientific journals and texts at times beyond the 'normal' working hours.


Job Requirements



Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree with major in Natural Science or Pharmacy or equivalent 
  • Between 3 to 7 years prior relevant industrial experience is required.  
  • Chemical Hygiene training
  • Other pertinent training/courses
