PROJECT MANAGER – R&D, DRUG DEVELOPMENT in Albany, NY

The Project Manager – R&D, Drug Development is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by leading, coordinating, and scheduling complex drug development projects involving Engineering, Chemical Development, Analytical Development, GMP Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Business Development (BD) departments.

 In this role, you will:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 


•       Lead, co-ordinate and drive projects internally to ensure that client timelines, budget and deliverables are a primary focus (as reflected in KPIs).

•       Ensure that every project is suitably resourced and project team is clear on overall goals.

•       Utilize MS Project software to create realistic project plans (especially Gantt timelines).

•       Run regularly scheduled internal and client meetings, prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes where appropriate.

•       Maintain project specific SharePoint sites when applicable.

•       Monitor project budget throughout the project life cycle and ensure that any over-run is flagged to the relevant BD Manager and client in a timely fashion.

•       Schedule and plan upcoming projects based on individual client needs.


Job Requirements

Required

•       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, focusing on science (chemistry preferred)

•       Prior biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience required (minimum 2 years)

•       Windows-based Microsoft Office applications experience (particularly Excel and Project)

•       Direct experience in a PM role would be a bonus but not essential. PMP certification a plus.

•       Ability to understand general business, financial and scientific information pertinent to AMRI’s business.

•       Excellent written and verbal presentation and communications skills.

•       Excellent facilitation skills. Ability to resolve conflicts.

•       Ability to effectively present information to clients, top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
