 API PROCESS CHEMIST in Grafton, WI

In this role, you will:       



               

•       Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity

•       Synthesize known compounds efficiently using literature or in-house notebook procedures

•       Purify synthesized chemicals to an appropriate degree

•       Analyze and identify compounds using a good range of modern separation and spectroscopic techniques.  This will include interpretation of TLC, HPLC, polarimetry, IR, and NMR spectra of moderate complexity.

•       Conduct literature searches for specific target compounds, structures related to the target compound, or to determine specific conditions for compounds and reactions

•       Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of commercial products

Job Requirements



Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required

 

Education and/or Experience;

•       Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree (preferred) with Chemistry major and a minimum of two years of relevant industry experience

•       Chemical Hygiene training

•       Knowledge and experience of GMP/GLP

•       Experience with manufacturing operations and analytical skills are preferred

Communication, Math Skills & Reasoning Ability

•       Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

•       Ability to write technical protocols and reports.  Ability to effectively present information to others, including top management.

•       Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

•       Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
