Description
AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. 

The Materials Planner will be responsible for the generation and execution of purchase orders, raw material planning, and collecting data required to maintain the accuracy of inventory records. Work closely with the Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing, and Warehouse personnel to secure material requirements for scheduled activities. Verify materials are received and processed in time to meet scheduled production dates. Coordinate with finance for proper documentation of purchase orders and ensure purchasing controls are maintained.

Responsibilities

Purchasing/Planning:
•Generate Purchase order requisitions and route for appropriate approval
•Research pricing and availability of parts and materials
•Execute purchase orders with approved vendors
•Assist in collecting information for the approval of new vendors
•Initiate documentation for new suppliers and new part numbers
•Review inventory availability against inventory requirements

Master Data:
•Obtain bills of materials for upcoming projects from Engineering group
•Help to maintain the active item master document
•Maintain production schedule
•Update related Supply Chain SOPs
•Handle Department deviations and investigations within TrackWise
•May own or lead a project
•Provide regular material status updates on new projects to the Supply Chain Manager as well as Project Managers and Engineers

Material Control:
•Establish activities to optimize value of on-hand inventory: Kanban, vendor-managed, and just-in-time inventory programs may be utilized as applicable
•Establish, maintain, and update perpetual inventory system procedures as required
•Assist in the coordination of physical inventory and reconciliation vs. perpetual
•Assist in investigations of perpetual vs. physical inventory adjustments and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
•Review and report on accuracy of inventory
•Review inventory for actual and potential obsolescence and report monthly with explanations and recommended disposition
•Populate data for daily cross-functional team meeting for issues within a rolling 4-week time fence, and weekly (interdepartmental) Materials Meeting
•Attend weekly (interdepartmental) Materials Meeting and complete assigned tasks
•Maintain control substance tracking and reporting

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of Degree
•2 years’ experience in supply chain environment
•Experience working with Oracle MRP/ERP system preferred
•Strong computer skills: Excel, Access, and Oracle
•Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) experience preferred
•Ability to establish and achieve objectives working effectively with clients, suppliers and all levels of employees
•Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail is essential
