Inventory Control Specialist in Rensselaer, NY

AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Inventory Control Specialist falls within the Supply Chain department, which is responsible for setting and implementing polices relating to customer order processing and management of materials for the facility. The department effectively and efficiently directs the Materials Management functions to ensure that corporate manufacturing and quality goals for Operations are met.  Manage the customer order processing, materials planning, procurement, scheduling, inventory, warehousing, shipping and receiving operations.  Develop and implement appropriate systems and controls to cost effectively manage the existing operation and meet the needs of a growing organization.

In this role, you will:

•          Perform and report customer inventories upon request and as scheduled by customers.

•          Perform scheduled and as needed cycle counts of inventory in warehouse.

•          Research and reconcile book/system to physical inventories on hand.

•          Perform inventory cycle counts as required by DEA for controlled substances.

•          Perform inventory and arrange controlled substance samples and rejects for shipment, using 222 Form.

•          Perform Quarantine material cycle counts monthly and provide information to management to determine disposition of quarantined items.

•          Work closely with warehouse operations and other departments as needed.

•          Responsible for cycle counting and inventory accuracy.  Ensures that inventory discrepancies are researched and resolved timely and that root cause is identified, communicated and fixed.
Key metric here is:
- Inventory accuracy
- Number of inventory adjustments

•          Follows all warehouse systems processes and procedures.

•          Adheres to ALL SOPs, Human Resource policies, Department Guidelines, OSHA/Safety practices, GAAP and CGMP.


Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience  

High School Diploma. Any further education or certifications a plus.
