The Global Finance Manager is a key member of the API business unit Finance team, with primary responsibility for delivering financial reporting, analysis & business insights to enhance API business operating performance.

Responsibilities:

•         Manages the API management reporting process to provide business and corporate leadership with timely reports on API financial results and related business insights. Reports in a manner that meets business or functional information needs, while meeting AMRI’s standards for process, timing, and format

•         Develops and reports on the appropriate set of performance metrics for API.  Ensures the appropriate financial metrics and reports, and related insights, are provided to business management on a timely basis

•         Serves as the finance reporting lead for the API business unit support functions. Generates monthly reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and develops planning & forecasting processes

•         Develops and documents standard financial processes with a focus on implementing common financial processes and practices globally across API sites. Through process improvement and organizational design, improves the efficiency of the finance function

•         Uses fact-based analysis and business judgment to proactively identify and communicate areas for operational and financial improvement. 

•         Provides financial decision support on a wide scope of operational and strategic matters impacting the achievement of business objectives. Ensures that management reporting includes appropriate business insights. Stays current with changes in the business to determine impact on the business’ financial statements. 

•         As required, participates in API business unit and corporate initiatives to help drive them to successful completion (SFRI, CIP, Strategic Pricing, Service, etc.)

Works closely and communicates effectively with corporate partners in Corporate Accounting, Operations Finance, Finance Services, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and IT to ensure that both API and corporate information and support needs are consistently met

Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required:

•         Over 5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in a variety of business environments. Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance required. Master’s degree preferred.

•         Strong business acumen and judgment. Able to think strategically about business issues.

•         Strong knowledge of US accounting regulations and company accounting policies and practices, and unquestioned integrity in the application of such standards.

•         Outstanding business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights that add measurable value. Current knowledge of trends in finance and functional best-practices.

•         Excellent at workload prioritization, resource management, and project management. Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient.

•         Experience in Financial reporting software such as Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion Essbase/Smartview. Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
