FP&A Manager in Albany, NY

The FP&A Manager is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by partnering with the DDA/FC (Discovery, Development, Analytical Services, & Fine Chemicals) Business Unit Leadership Team to provide the consolidated financial overview, as well as directly supporting site leadership teams and commercial team to drive business strategy and sound financial and business decisions.

In this role, you will:                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

  • Coordinate P&L forecast process within DDA/FC, including Annual Operating Plan (budget), quarterly forecast and pacing, monthly revenue flash and weekly revenue updates. Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, in close collaboration with IT to maximize new tools
  • Responsible for management reporting to the DDA/FC Leadership Team and executive presentations
  • Principal financial advisor and business partner to the site leadership teams in Albany and Buffalo; provide site management with timely and valuable financial insights that support business decision making at the site level.  Directly support site leadership teams during all forecast cycles.  Monitor performance and initiate corrective action as required. Drive adherence to monthly/quarterly/annual financial goals.
  • Proactively identify and communicate areas for operational and financial improvement within the sites, leading to improved gross margins and working capital.  Partner with business on initiatives that improve financial performance. 
  • Principle financial advisor and business partner to the commercial team and support them in revenue forecast, margin analysis and price/volume analysis. 
  • Review accounting entries and approve monthly financial statements on behalf of the FP&A team
  • Expense forecast and management for DDA/FC HQ SG&A
  • Ad-hoc analysis for DDA/FC Leadership team and business partners

Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

 

Required:

 

  • BS degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
  • 5 years of financial management experience, cost accounting and commercial experience preferred
  • Strong business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights that add measurable value. 
  • Excellent at workload prioritization and project management. Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to influence others outside of direct management sphere of influence.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suites, Oracle, Hyperion (Smartview); strong Excel modeling skills preferred
  • Possesses the behavioral attributes of the AMRI finance competency model: critical thinking and analysis, business insight, decision making, drive for results, financial expertise, project management and process improvement, collaboration and team work, and influence
