FACILITIES ENGINEERING DIRECTOR in Grafton, WI

The Facilities Engineering Director is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by scheduling, pre-planning, project management and resource forecasting of engineering and other technical activities relating to the design, installation, qualification, calibration and repair of capital project equipment.

In this role, you will:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 



                             

•       Create and review project plans and proposals, then work with management to develop project objectives.  Identify project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project.  Calculate time frames and sequences of the stages of the project. Communicate a description and timeline of projects to stakeholders.

•       Provide engineering support for Process department efforts including: trials and scale-up of new products.

•       Study product designs, customer requirements and performance standards, then determine project specifications; develop P & IDs, present cost estimates and performance standards.  Conduct tests assuring safe and satisfactory product performance.

•       Prepare and review contractor bids; interview and assign personnel to specific phases and elements of the project.  Communicate, oversee and coordinate the technical aspects of the project including preparation and execution of validation & change control protocols required to maintain compliance with cGMPs.

•       Prepare status reports and regularly monitor budgets, contractors and schedules.  Allocate project resources appropriately; approve expenditures; employee contractor contracts.  Keep an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects.

•       Work with a team comprising of Production personnel, I/E group, Maintenance, contractors and vendors.  

Job Requirements



Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required

 

•       BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, science or related areas

•       Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant development manufacturing experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

•       Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to write clear reports and procedures.  Experience with AUTOCAD a plus.

•       Extensive Capital project experience required

•       Advanced written and oral communication skills

•       Advanced mathematical skills to include the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

•       Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
