Electrician

Albany Molecular Research Inc. provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. 

Summary:
The position of Electrician maintains the electrical and controls systems of all manufacturing equipment, utilities and facilities to allow for the efficient and safe production of quality products.
This position will also be the first responder to a system mechanical failure to determine if a controls problem exists or to determine what type of mechanical failure has occurred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and modifies all production and facilities’ electrical/control equipment and associated systems.
  • Diagnose 3 phase motor failures and drives.  Replace if required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures to insure continued quality operational capability of production and facilities systems.
  • Maintains maintenance logbooks, manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics to comply with all controlled documentation and cGMP’s as they pertain to equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Documents the execution of maintenance activities as required on appropriate documentation (i.e. maintenance work orders and forms) in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements specified in controlled documentation and in equipment manuals.
  • Supports projects and miscellaneous activities as deemed by Engineering and Maintenance Management
  • Maintain equipment and facilities at a high level of performance by doing quality work
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:                                              
State Electrical License with three years related experience in a manufacturing environment, or Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Electronic controls; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills:                                                  
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills:                                            
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
