AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

 

The Benefits Specialist’s primary responsibilities will be to manage the daily operational duties associated with administering employee benefit programs. AMRI is looking for a self-starter who is interested in expanding their expertise in the benefits arena as this role will provide progressive benefit administration experience. The successful candidate will interface in assisting employees with pay and benefit matters, working with various benefit vendors and consultants used to support AMRI’s benefit programs.

Responsibilities

 

  • Guiding benefit eligible employees through medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible spending, life insurance, disability, critical illness, and other related benefits
  • Enrolling new and existing employees into benefit plan(s), entering and/or updating information
  • Answering employee questions and concerns regarding the different plans including eligibility, costs, enrollment, etc.; contacting appropriate vendor(s) to resolve issues when needed
  • Working with payroll to ensure accurate and timely set up of benefit deductions, and creating/maintaining benefit files
  • Audit employee information to ensure accurate payroll deductions, reimbursement, and vendor payments; ensure record keeping is up-to-date and accurate in employee files, HRIS and payroll systems
  • Assists with the management of the 401k and pension plans; includes compliance, audits, and general administration
  • Participating in and/or assisting with open enrollment, projects, new system and plan implementations and/or testing
  • Identification and resolution of delivery issues including process design, communication, and education
  • On rare occasions traveling to our centers or acquired sites to assist in the explanation, enrollment and/or transferring of benefits
  • Stay current on changing Federal and State regulations and legislation that may affect employee benefits

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years of experience in a mid to large company

•         1-2 years of experience in employment leave administration

  • Has worked across a full portfolio benefits plans such as medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible spending, life insurance, disability, critical illness, and other related benefits
  • Ability to handle difficult employee issues and sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliverables
  • Strong proficiency in software related to Windows including Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred

 

  • Experience working with Oracle HR Cloud, Oracle Advanced Benefits Modules, and ADP
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations related to ACA, ADA, FMLA and COBRA
  • Experience interfacing with benefit plan vendors
  • Experience with multi locational organizations, preferably national

•         Experience with Excel and specifically VLOOKUP
