Associate Project Manager in Burlington, MA

AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

 

The Project Manager is responsible for overall coordination and scheduling of complex projects with the Engineering, Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Materials departments. This person will generate and monitor timelines, budgets and deliverables. Reports on project status, communicates any issues, problems or additional information to senior managers and recommends solutions. Spending time with clients during on-site visits is required.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide administrative co-ordination and support to the Project Management team, both system based and updating trackers, files, etc.
  • Ensure CRM and Oracle is current for all projects and change orders.
  • Facilitates client project meetings throughout project lifecycle, ensuring communication lines are clearly defined using Communication Plan and Contact Matrix
  • Manage the change order process according to standard template and process flows
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the project team and client
  • Management of routine projects as allocated by Manager of Project Management, ensuring a consistent approach by using approved templates and process flows
  • Develop clear project management plan for projects
  • Utilize Planisware to generate Gantt timelines for projects (similar to MS Project)
  • Define project timelines and milestones to project team
  • Monitor project profitability, flagging cost overage risks
  • Work with department leads to ensure optimal capacity and project planning
  • Conducts full or phased project review at appropriate stages of the project
  • Identifies any lessons learned, and host close out meeting with client and project team where appropriate
  • Ensure timely escalation of potential issues to Line Manager/Manager of Project Management as appropriate
  • Promotes effective teamwork across departments
  • Maintains an accurate record of revenue and billing associated with all allocated projects and facilitates weekly OTIF meetings.
  • Act as primary point of contact for on-site client observation or visits

Job Requirements

Required:

•         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.

•         1 years’ experience in progressive project management role. Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology field strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for internal and external parties
  • Previous experience of a supporting Project Management role
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office Excel, Word and Project
  • Experience of managing a CRM system, ideally Salesforce
  • Proven customer related experience and client facing skills
  • Demonstrated proactive and organized approach, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Able to exert influence over those whom they do not have direct authority
  • Awareness of processes, technical issues and requirements of all the individual business and service lines
  • Good networking ability and able to be decisive in decision making when facing ambiguity

Preferred:

•         Education background focusing on bioscience highly desired

Scientific or GMP manufacturing background or education
