AP Accountant II in Albany, NY

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for processing and maintaining the accounts payable records and performing accounts payable reconciliation.

Responsibilities

•         Process accounts payable transactions in accordance with AMRI Global Accounting Policies # 7, Payables, Accruals and Other Liabilities. Processing includes voucher keying, working with scanning software for input (AP Express), assisting in check run preparation, ACH and wire payment processing, mail distribution and filing. Maintain organized vendor files and related accounts payable information

•         Process and communicate with vendors and AMRI employees on payment status, statement reconciliation and issues in a timely and consistent professional manner

•         Month end accrual and closing of the ledger preparation. Works closely with site finance and purchasing departments

•         Produce year-end 1099 MISC filing requirements

•         Create reports or produce other informational data requested by the Supervisor, Site Controllers/Finance leads and other members of the department

•         Support audit requests for information. Audits represent external, tax and various government agencies or customers

•         Provide assistance to all departments for vendor and invoice inquiries

Generate reports, documents, and schedules as needed to support requests from internal sources (Controller, Department Management) to better aid in the Company’s completion of goals and efficiency of operations

Job Requirements

Required

•         Associates or B.S. in Accounting or equivalent experience

•         2-5 years accounting experience – accounts payable high volume processing

•         Enterprise software experience required, SAP or Oracle experience a plus

•         Management of diverse data population – good organizational skills
