AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Analyst (QC Planner) is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by coordinating the activities of the QC laboratory.  The planner will interact with various departments on and off-site to ensure QC testing is completed by established timelines.  The Analyst (QC Planner) is expected to demonstrate proficiency in both the theoretical and practical aspects of analytical chemistry.  A major component in the scientist's performance rating will be based on achieving company goals and site metrics.  The role will provide organizational and compliance support for the technical team.  The Analyst (QC Planner) will be responsible for the inventory, coordination of testing, and coordination of shipments for the QC laboratory. The Analyst Scientist (QC Planner) is expected to comply in a professional manner to the quality systems developed and implemented in the laboratories at diverse AMRI locations.

In this role, you will:

  • Help plan and coordinate QC laboratory testing with laboratory team leads, analysts, and department lead.  Attend meetings to inform department leadership of production schedule and updates.

  • Help implement efficiencies and metrics to improve QC testing times.

  • Manage timelines of multiple projects: Interface with scientists and management to coordinate testing timelines, corrections to documentation, and reporting within defined turnaround times.  Adjust priorities based on due dates and invoicing goals.

  • Coordinate contract laboratory (intercompany and external) testing when required including quotes, shipments, and receipt and distribution of reported results.

  • Manage contract laboratory (intercompany and external) purchase orders for contract testing work.

  • Coordinate reference material transfers between sites to support project work and coordinate recertification testing at the site. 

  • The Analyst (QC Planner) is encouraged to display a degree of professionalism reflected in part by increasing the scientist's knowledge of theory and practice through relevant training participation and literature searches.  Additional duties may be requested of this position as necessary.

Education and/or Experience


  • Bachelors Degree with major in Natural Science or Pharmacy with 2-3 years of industrial experience or equivalent.  May be substituted with 3-7 years prior industrial experience.

  • Chemical Hygiene training

  • Other pertinent training/courses
