Training Specialist

 

Albany Molecular Research Inc. provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. 

    

Summary: Looking for a Training Specialist to enhance the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that will boost employee’s workplace performance in alliance with company’s core values.  Training Specialist will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing and delivering curriculum and learning materials and managing deployment of training curriculum through oversight of subject matter expert’s administration of the day to day training. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate training events with Subject Matter Experts and functional area operators in the Wash and Prep, Filling, Capping, Glass Wash, Sanitization, and Compounding areas.  Evaluate and improve adherence to Standard Operating Procedures across functional groups and various production shifts.

  • Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses in collaboration with shift management.

  • Translating requirements into trainings that will groom employees for the next step of their career path.

  • Assist with the design, maintenance, and administration of various training modules to ensure uniformity across functional groups and compliance to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Meet with various training and department personnel to evaluate, report, and modify overall functional area records, procedures, and protocols.

  • Training Specialist will coordinate and provide oversight to training related activity to ensure that qualified subject matter experts are following the training plan/curriculum for trainees.

  • Training Specialist is responsible for maintaining the training program, the related assessments and metrics. This information will be reported to Manufacturing and Training Management.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:                                           

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.







Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:                                           

HS diploma or GED with equivalent experience will be considered.  Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing or equivalent environment. Pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.

Language Skills:  

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write and edit technical documents, SOPs, instructions write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Supervisor s, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:        

Ability to apply basic math concepts.                               

 

Reasoning Ability          

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.                                 

 

Computer Skills:                                                     

Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access, as this individual will perform work within these systems on a routine basis.

Other Skills and Abilities                                                   

  • Demonstrate an ability to comprehend and follow SOPs, cGMPs, and detailed instructions to successfully produce sterile quality products.

  • Demonstrate an ability to document information, events, and cGMP manufacturing processes clearly, accurately and completely.

  • Perform duties in an organized, detail oriented manner.

  • Apply basic math: measures, weights, fractions, decimals.

  • Apply basic computer skills with proficiency of Microsoft Office programs a plus.

  • Work and communicate well with others in a team environment.

    • Shift:  Four, ten hour shifts (specific days and hours to be determined based upon needs of the business), with some expectation of flexible hours as needed.
