Staff Accountant  in Albany, NY

AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Staff Accountant responsibilities will involve all aspects of the Company’s Corporate/Shared Services accounting and financial reporting functions including cost accounting.  At the direction of the Senior Accountant, the Staff Accountant will become involved in varied aspects of work performed within each of the core functional areas (including but not limited to General Ledger, Revenue Invoicing/Recognition, Project Set Up, Financial Statement Preparation, processing inventories, SEC Filing and other projects) with the overall objective of maximizing the level of service that the Corporate/Shared Services accounting and finance team delivers to the business.  This position will work with experts in each functional area to development expertise and provide project management and backup support.

In this role, you will:

1.                  Administer the Company’s cash management process, including weekly accounts payable check run, daily clearing of cash payments and application of cash receipts, and reconciliation of bank accounts.

2.                  Run oracle processes to generate commercial invoices for customers.

3.                  Maintain cash forecasting model for business including cash receipts and disbursements.

4.                  Support onboarding of new global locations cash processes integrating to the AMRI Corporate Shared Service model for cash. 

5.                  Complete and maintain various schedules and work papers that support the Company’s Balance Sheet accounts.

6.                  Complete and maintain various schedules and work papers that support the Company’s financial and operational position at a given point in time.

7.                  Perform analysis; generate reports, documents, and schedules as needed to support requests from internal sources (Controller, Department Management) to better aid in the Company’s completion of goals and efficiency of operations.

8.                  Generate reports, documents and schedules as needed to support requests from external sources to assist in the completion of these examinations (financial statement audits, tax audits, regulatory/government reporting, etc.)


Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required

Education and/or Experience

  • B.S. in Accounting or related field with 2 to 4 years related experience
  • CPA designation
  • Standard Cost experience
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion and Sage Fixed Assets a plus.
