Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting

 

Albany Molecular Research Inc. provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting will serve as a business partner in regards to AMRI’s analytic projects. The Sr. Manager, alongside the business partners, will drive best practices and ways to streamline KPI’s and business processes in BI. The candidate’s responsibilities will include project management of our analytic projects and creating a governance structure for the data. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and will be able to understand business processes.

Responsibilities

•         The Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting is directly responsible for results produced by the BI team members

•         This person will develop a future strategy and make sure that it aligns to the business and overall IT strategies

•         This individual will be accountable for providing leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management

•         This individual is responsible for operational delivery as well as broad, multi-function, global and multi-site strategic leadership

•         This individual will work closely with IT management, business owners, BA’s, developers and vendors to achieve results in support of business strategies

•         This person will guide personnel in completing their tasks, coordinate workflow and provide skill training based on personal proficiency in the technical processes, techniques, and tools they use which includes PowerBI, Tableau, Talend, and Snowflake

•         This position will also be required to lead and manage projects with a medium to high degree of complexity

•         This individual will work with IT management to deliver a cohesive strategic plan for BI and reporting including a roadmap on new technologies focusing on reporting, framework and analytics

•         The individual will provide strategies for overall Business Intelligence approaches as well as testing and performance strategies

•         This individual will work closely with IT Application teams, global and local groups to achieve results in support of AMRI business intelligence strategies

•         Understanding the use of statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports

•         Work with departmental managers to outline the specific data needs for each business unit

•         Ability to understand and coalesce data from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, other sources)

•         Provide management and direction for direct employees and offshore resources


Job Requirements

Required


•BS required, preferably in a technology or business discipline

•Strong business acumen

•Project Management – 3 Lifecycles

•5 years of Management Experience

•5 years of experience in the working with Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence or related fields 

•Experience with major ERP systems as it relates to reporting and business intelligence

•Experience with data visualization tools 

•Experience with Cloud related ETL and Warehousing technology

•Progressive experience in an analyst role working in a business intelligence environment

•Experience with ad-hoc query tools (Toad, SQLPlus) and a working knowledge SQL queries


Preferred


•MBA a plus 

•Background in manufacturing or Pharmaceutical industry

•Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)

•Experience with Oracle EBS, SAP

•Experience in a budgeting and forecasting tool like Hyperion
