AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Service Engineer is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by supporting our Research Scientists in our GMP Analytical Chemistry Laboratory. The routine functions of the Service Engineer I are repair, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instrumentation. The Service Engineer is expected to demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting instrumentation and software as well as direct support of analytical personnel.

Responsibilities:

•Perform routine preventive maintenance on analytical chromatographic systems (GC, HPLC, UPLC)
•Perform calibration/qualification of GC, HPLC, UPLC
•Repair and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
•Maintain detailed records of maintenance and qualification activities
•Provide direct support and guidance to research scientists as issues arise
•Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operation, maintenance, and qualification of laboratory instrumentation
•Assist in identifying, reporting, and resolving quality events
•Manage and interact with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vendors and qualified service providers to facilitate equipment installation, maintenance, and qualification
•Source and maintain stock of instrument consumables, repair parts, and kits

Qualifications
•4-year degree in chemistry or related field is desired, but not required
•Minimum 2 years of experience in a GMP environment
•Minimum of 2 years of experience with GDP
•3-5 years of experience with HPLC, UPLC, and GC
•Expertise/experience with Waters™ Alliance®/Acquity® LC systems and Agilent™ 6890/7890 GC systems is highly desired
•Experience with Waters™ Empower® software is preferred
•Familiarity with general office software (Microsoft Office®, Oracle®) and quality management systems (MasterControl™, Salesforce®)
•Strong mechanical inclination – basic proficiency with tools and hardware
•Solid understanding and application of basic physical/chemical concepts and systems (pneumatics, fluidics, optics, and electronics)     •Compliance with local and federal safety and environmental regulations
