Senior Research Scientist I- Assay Development & Screening in Buffalo, NY

The Senior Research Scientist I- Assay Development & Screening in Buffalo is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success towards assay development, target characterization, screening and lead optimization for client-based projects and internal development projects by applying a strong scientific background in biochemistry, enzymology, biophysical or cell biology with a focus on pre-clinical drug discovery.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays to test novel therapeutics
  • Take advantage of high throughput instrumentation and screening platforms
  • Work in a project-driven, matrixed organization
  • Compose research plans, execute experiments, and deliver project results to clients
  • Manage multiple projects and train and supervise junior researchers

Job Requirements

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required:

  • A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Pharmacology or Cell Biology or related field and 6 years of postdoctoral experience. (MS/BS with equivalent experience and leadership acceptable)
  • Experience in successfully managing complex biology projects.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in managing resources and personnel.
  • Enzymology or Biophysical experience.
  • Assay development for HTS and lead characterization experience.
  • Experience in label free screening techniques and mass spectroscopy.
